During the treatment, we use the Dermapen. A carefully selected cocktail of active ingredients is inserted deep into your skin through the fine, sterile needles in the pen. Here are answers to frequently asked questions about microneedling.
Does microneedling hurt?
During the treatment, you may experience a tingling sensation and your skin will feel warm afterwards. The treatment is generally tolerable, but of course we will keep a close eye on whether it is not too much for you during the treatment. We end the treatment with a cooling mask to soothe the skin and give you a moment of relaxation.
Do the needles leave wounds?
The needles in the Dermapen leave tiny holes in the skin. These are not visible wounds, but micro-channels that stimulate the natural recovery process and promote the production of collagen and elastin.
Can I still walk outside after the treatment?
Your skin is pink or red after the treatment, but in principle, you can just walk around the street again after the treatment. However, we recommend giving your skin a rest immediately after the treatment. This way, the active ingredients that have just been introduced into your skin can work. It is also important to avoid direct sunlight for 24 hours after treatment.
Does microneedling have a long recovery time?
Up to 48 hours after treatment, the skin may be (slightly) red, which will gradually decrease. Two to three days after treatment, the skin may flake slightly because it sheds old skin cells. The skin may feel sensitive, reddened and flaky for a few days. This varies from person to person.
