At Zen Clinics, we have developed an intensive treatment method where we combine medical peels and microneedling, supplemented with home products that contain high-quality, active ingredients. We always make a personalized treatment plan so that we can tailor the treatment specifically to your skin.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about melasma treatments.

Does melasma always come back?

Melasma is chronic, but this does not mean that smooth skin is not an option. With the right treatment and use of the right products, you can make the pigment spots disappear. Because it is a chronic condition, the pigment spots can occur again. For example, due to exposure to the sun or a change in your hormonal balance.

Does melasma go away after pregnancy?

Melasma may decrease after pregnancy because your hormonal balance changes again. In some cases, active treatment is therefore not necessary. At Zen Clinics, we stand for fair and targeted treatments. If a treatment is not necessary in your case, we will not advise you.

Does the treatment hurt?

A treatment is not painful, but it can be experienced as uncomfortable. At Zen Clinics, we stand for warmth and attention, so we will do everything we can to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

Can I still go out in the sun after the treatment?

We don't advice to go into direct sunlight after treatment. Your upper skin layers have been affected by the treatment and are therefore very sensitive to UV radiation.

Can treatment also make melasma worse?

No. After a medical peel, it is important that you do not expose your skin directly to sunlight and we recommend that all our customers, regardless of skin condition or treatment, use SPF 50+ daily.

From Zena to you

During both pregnancies, I experienced melasma. It's a challenging skin condition, but luckily I knew how to get it under control quickly. This is an intensive treatment process where maintenance treatments are necessary to stabilize the pigment. The great thing is that I not only achieved results on the pigmentation spots, but also improved my overall skin quality.
